a prom is a formal dance held at the end of the years of high school, called junior prom and senior prom respectively. A few hours before arriving to prom, there is usually a "pre-prom" where a group of students and their parents, family members, and friends take pictures and get ready prior to when their form of transportation (sometimes a rented limousine, other times driven by a parent) arrives to bring them to prom.

A typical pre-prom gathering, with boys in tuxedos and girls in dresses with corsages.
Boys are usually dressed in
tuxedos with bowties, sometimes with brightly colored cummerbunds or vests, though any sort of formal wear can be worn. Girls usually wear formal gowns or dresses adorned with a corsage given them by their date, and often dress to shock or be noticed in low cut dresses, shiny or brightly colored fabrics, unusual cuts, or formal pants outfits. Often times, boys and girls will dress according to the theme of the prom - i.e. pastel suits for a Miami Vice-themed prom.
Common prom activities include
dining, dancing, and socializing. The prom night is laden with significance and anxiety to many students about being invited, finding a date, what to wear. On the other hand, some high school students feel the prom is the most romantic night of their lives. They may go in a group that includes a person they have known for years; other times, students just try to find a date that they like. Many find it to be just as fun to attend with friends, not worrying about the dating aspect of the prom. Because of the age of the attendees, parents, teachers, or others usually act as chaperones for the prom and after-prom activities. The use of chaperones is intended to prevent the occurrence of violence or alcohol/drug abuse.

That's what wiki says about the prom which everyone in the batch is looking forward to. Rawr.

at sa wakas.. natapos din ang aking kalbaryo... 3rd quarter exams are already over. Whew! Madugo talaga sobra ang buhay sa 3rd quarter.

We ended the exam week by having the Chemistry and Media Awareness tests. Unexpected, we took the Chemistry exam first. That's unusual because we usually take the difficult subjects after the easier subject. Get it? Anyway, the test went on fine. I think everything just went on fine except for that fcuking Geometry test. Rawr.. I can be good in everything but being good in anything involving MATH is an exception. I always have Math-related subjects the lowest in my progress report every year. All I want in math is division.. lowest terms.. mind you, I had the "Best in Arithmetic" award during the 6th grade--because grade 6 math is more on division stuff.

I was supposed to practice for boosters today but instead, I went with Trixie and Ariane and went to Eastwood. We saw a lot of SHSians in Eastwood.. even batchmates and others were from the lower levels. We even saw Joeward.. Haha. Eastwood is the place to be. Going to Eastwood was quite therapeutic.. Therapeutic in the sense that it lets us stress-free for a quite time. The movie house was filled with SHSians of different year levels. Haha. A lot of 3rd year students were there.

We talked about the prom. I guess everyone's just excited and thrilled. The prom is really a once in a lifetime event that's why we're really looking forward to it. Haha. We talked about some prom matters like talking with your date, dancing/slow dancing with your date-- which is a thing that seems hard to do. I can't deny that I'm SO excited... Hahahaha.. I'm getting my gown tomorrow.. Haha. I'm also excited to see everyone on their gowns!!!

As Manny says, let's just make the most of it! and yes, I'll try my best to make the most of it! Prom is only once in a lifetime and I don't want regrets. Haha. :)

Geometry is pain. Math is pain.
